to Visit Animal Control in case your lost pet has been picked
up or surrendered to them.
** Animals picked up by animal control will be euthanized in 3
days (after they've been picked up) if they do not have ID
tags, and 5 days (after pick up) if they have an ID tag or
microchip and have not been claimed. **

Visit and Call all Animal Rescue
Organizations and check if your lost pet was surrendered to
their organization. These Non-Profit Animal Rescue
Organizations will take in animals found by the public and
adopt them out to loving families.
Report your missing
microchipped pet to your microchip manufacturer (ie..HomeAgain,
Avid etc...) and insure that they have good current emergency
contact information on file for you, should your pet turn up
in the system.
Also, consider calling the Humane
Society of El Paso, 915-532-6971,
4991 Fred Wilson, El Paso, TX 79906 and checking/placing an ad
in the "Lost
Pet" section of the El Paso Times On-Line.
NOTE: Make sure you always have proper
identification on your pet for a safe return home if lost. (ID
should have your current phone number(s) and address)

Microchip Lookup: Use this site to find out the
manufacturer of a microchipped pet. Since there are
several chip manufacturers, this will help you to contact the
correct manufacturer first to let them know that you've
recovered a pet with one of their microchips. Hopefully,
they will then be able to look up emergency contact
information for the recovered pet to allow them to be reunited
with their owner. Here are the instructions:
Enter the microchip ID above and click "Submit". The results
are returned with the most recent entry displaying first.
Therefore, start by calling the company listed first in the
"enrolled with" box. If you are unable to get the correct
information from the top record, work your way down the list.
