Lost and Found Pets : Please check this local El Paso government site if you've lost or found a pet!  Posting is free and easy to do.  Also,

Make sure to Visit Animal Control in case your lost pet has been picked up or surrendered to them.
** Animals picked up by animal control will be euthanized in 3 days (after they've been picked up) if they do not have ID tags, and 5 days (after pick up) if they have an ID tag.**

Animal Control: Phone (915) 842-1000 or 842-1001, or 842-1002
5001 Fred Wilson Rd, El Paso, Texas 79906
Right across from the Ft. Bliss Cemetery

Visit and Call all Animal Rescue Organizations and check if your lost pet was surrendered to their organization. These Non-Profit Animal Rescue Organizations will take in animals found by the public and adopt them out to loving families.

Also, consider calling the Humane Society of El Paso, 532-6971, 325 Shelter Dr. and checking/placing an ad in the "Lost Pet" section of the El Paso Times On-Line.

NOTE: Make sure you always have proper identification on your pet for a safe return home if lost. (ID should have your current phone number(s) and address)

Microchip your pet - it is the law.

Please note!   Microchipping is now required in El Paso for all dogs, cats and ferrets.  This will go a long way in helping to reduce the number of needless euthanasias that our local Animal Control has to perform every day (currently 60-70 animals every day!).  Why not ask your veterinarian about having your pet "chipped" (microchip implantation)?  Collars and tags can be lost and tattoos can be altered but the microchip is there to stay providing your pet with a lifeline back to you!  If you'd like to learn more about implantable microchips for your pet, visit this site for more information about the subject: HomeAgain for Lost and Found Pets
